Creative Technology Instructor for Kids
Position Overview
Thrive STEAM Enrichment is seeking an engaging, creative, and tech-savvy instructor to lead our Tech Explorers classes during the academic year.
This role is ideal for someone who loves working with kids, enjoys hands-on learning, and wants the freedom to bring creative tech ideas to life in a fun, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a weekly Tech Explorers class for students aged 8-11
- Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons that may introduce and explore:
- 3D printing and computer art design
- Beginner coding concepts (ex: simple games, logic-based challenges)
- Video game and website creation
- Robotics and engineering builds
- Creative tech projects (digital design, invention challenges, etc.)
- Problem-solving activities and interactive challenges and games
- Lego tech activities
- Create a fun, inclusive, and structured environment while allowing room for creativity and exploration
- Encourage teamwork, confidence, and curiosity
Hands-On STEAM Lab Instructor
Position Overview
Create, plan, organize and direct a structured instructional classroom setting with a STEAM focus, while at the same time allowing the freedom and flexibility for students to discover, explore and develop their STEAM related interests.
The classroom should provide a safe and comfortable learning environment that welcomes risk-taking & mistakes, and cultivates an excitement for learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversight of students, guiding class time and managing behavior
- Selection and development of lessons to be used
- Monitor and guide students in the parking lot, playground and facility while outside of the classroom
- Guide an environment with expectations that strike a balance of both risk-taking as well as physical and emotional safety
Middle School STEAM Instructor
Position Overview
Middle School STEAM requires an instructor-guided, yet student-centered approach to teaching. The goal is for our participants to gain a deeper understanding of subjects through hands-on projects, active exploration, and real-world problem-solving and challenges.
The classroom should provide a safe and comfortable learning environment that welcomes risk-taking & mistakes, cultivates an excitement for learning, promotes self respect & responsibility, and fosters an awareness of and care for others.
