If your child prefers completely adult-directed, time-scheduled conditions and has a hard time when given the freedom to choose their own activities. If your child has a hard time being respectful and kind to others and the environment. Participants who display behaviors that are destructive, rude, or unkind will be asked to discontinue attending.
No we don't. However, in true Thrive style kids have freedom of choice. Kids may choose and take the initiative to work on homework on their own.
No daily snacks are provided. We encourage families to send kids with generous healthy snacks and water bottles, as they get hungry throughout their busy time at Thrive.
Sometimes there are food activities, donated snacks or food from our garden. If we offer these items we will always check the food restrictions and preferences you have put on their emergency forms before providing snacks to your child.
Self-Directed means that children get to choose their activities, goals and projects. These choices are respected and free from adult judgement or coercion. However, all freedom comes with responsibility. Participants are held accountable for their behavior and for being respectful to others and the environment.
STEAM *Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math* activities are presented daily in a style that is hands-on, engaging and fun. Your child is sure to gain new knowledge and skills in a way that will leave them wanting to come back for more.
We provide a high quality program with experienced adults and engaging hands-on learning activities.
The Thrive Enrichment team is fingerprinted/background cleared, CPR/First Aid certified, and trained in all safety procedures. The team members that do creek wading activities have Water Safety Training. Our team has many years of experience working with students in a variety of academic, enrichment, and recreational settings and many are parents themselves.
No, Thrive is not a school nor a childcare. Our business model is much like a karate or dance studio or theater lessons. Kids sign up for classes and participate in STEAM *Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math* enrichment activities.
